Kathleen Serritt Jackson

Mrs. Kathleen Serritt Jackson, age 66 of Calhoun, died Monday, September 9, 2013 at her residence following several years of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on January 23, 1947, daughter of the late Charley "Hud" and Jewel Serritt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Tinch of Calhoun, and a brother-in-law, Earl Compton of Calhoun.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Jackson was employed as a Nurse with Gordon Hospital, Gordon Health Care, and Hamilton Medical Center. She attended Sugar Valley Church of God.

She leaves behind her husband of 47 years, John F. Jackson of the residence; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Misty Jackson of Plainville; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Chris Cleary, and a daughter, Stephanie Mann, all of Calhoun; a sister, Ethelene Compton of Calhoun; grandchildren, Jeffrey Jackson, Jessica Jackson Cash, Erica Cleary, and Ashley Mann; and great-grandchildren, Harley Jackson, Savannah Mulkey, Corbin Cash, Jeffrey Jackson, Jr., and Conner Jackson.

The family would like to give special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Cartersville for their care of Mrs. Jackson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Serritt Jackson will be held Thursday, September 12th at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwaine Shadix officiating. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Russell Mobbs, Richard Craig, Elbert Jackson, Chris Tinch, Roy Smith, Wayne Brown, Tommy Brumlow, Jack Brumlow, Dennis Hallman, and Jeffrey Jackson.

The Jackson family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, September 11th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
