Kayleigh Denise Jean Kown, age 15 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She was born in Gordon County on June 24, 1997, daughter of David Roden, Jr. and Crystal Kown Roden.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Kown, Mr. and Mrs. Leon and Edith Muse, Mr. Grady Roden, and an uncle, Darrell Autrey.
Kayleigh was a member of the Sonoraville High School Class of 2015. She was a member of Victory Temple Church of God.
Kayleigh leaves behind her parents, David Roden, Jr. and Crystal Kown Roden; grandparents, Kay and Russell Kown, Gail and David Roden, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Williams, and Mrs. Eloise Roden; a brother, Caleb Roden; a special sister, Kayla Kown; special brothers, Kayson Shaw and Gage Autrey; aunts and uncles, Mr. and Mrs. Tim and Angie Shaw, Mr. and Mrs. Jason and Melissa Robertson, Mrs. Amanda Roden, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hilburn, Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Williams, Susan Thomas and Dean Feller, and Mr. David Autrey. Other survivors include special aunts, Kara Kown and Nancy Alvis; Sunday School teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Roney Harris and Renae Dutton; members of Victory Temple Church of God, special friends, Kalee Meadows, Rebecca O'Neal, Betty Jean Jones, and Colton O'Neal; and special teachers, Principal Bruce Potts, Mrs. Dia Johnson, Christy Smith, Ms. Wrepress, and Coach Vaughn. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Kayleigh Denise Jean Kown will be held Tuesday, April 30th at 3:30pm from the Victory Temple Church of God, with Pastor Jeff Dutton officiating. Music will be arranged by Barron and Elaine Bearden. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Colton O'Neal, Tyler Thomas, Ryan Autry, David Autry, Jason Robertson, Chris Richards, Albert Hilburn, and Tim Shaw. Honorary pallbearers will be the Sonoraville High School Class of 2015.
The family will receive friends at Victory Temple Church of God on Monday, April 29th from 3:00pm until 9:00pm, and again on Tuesday prior to the service.
The family would like to give special thanks to all members and staff of Sonoraville High School, the Georgia State Patrol, the Fire Stations and EMS for all their efforts and prayers. Also, the staff of Gordon Hospital and Erlanger Medical Center for their help, all others for their prayers, and for the two angels who made the 911 call.
