Kenneth Chapman

H. Kenneth Chapman, 77, of the Sonoraville Community, died suddenly at his home on Saturday, February 21, 2015.

Kenneth was born in Calhoun, Georgia on September 17, 1937; he was the son of the late Kimbol and Bessie Lee Johnston Chapman. Kenneth retired from Lockheed Aircraft Corporation after more than 46 years of employment. He was a longtime member of Sonoraville Baptist Church.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Bertha Mae Crook Chapman; his son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Vickie Chapman, of Calhoun; his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Greg Samples, of Adairsville, and Denise and Ricky Brookshire, of Calhoun; his grandchildren, Kimberly Chapman, Ken Chapman, Shannon Brookshire, Rachel Brookshire, Ethan Samples, and Katie Presley; his great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lambert and Kevin Lambert; his mother-in-law, Odell Crook; sister-in-law, Ellaree Smith; brother-in-law, James Crook and his wife Annette; a special niece, Barbara Jean Jones; a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from Sonoraville Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Skates, Rev. Aaron Jones, and Rev. Jether Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ethan Samples, Ken Chapman, Michael Johnson, Robert Paris, Keith Sitton, Jimmy Fox, Allen Johnson, and Nath Jordan. Honorary pallbearers are Marvin and Ida Montgomery, Jack and Geneva Bibb, Jimmy and Barbara Gee, and the Adult 5 Sunday School Class from Sonoraville Baptist Church.

The Chapman family will receive friends from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22 at Sonoraville Baptist Church.
