Mr. Kenneth Hendrix, age 65 of Ranger, passed away Tuesday morning, August 11, 2009 at Gordon Health Care Center following an extended illness.
Mr. Hendrix was born on November 16, 1943 in Pickens County, son of the late Leonard and Beatrice Chastain Hendrix. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.L. Hendrix and Marshall Hendrix. During his lifetime he was employed in the construction industry, and was a member of Sonora Lodge # 221 F & AM.
Mr. Hendrix is survived by a daughter, Brenda McLaughlin and her husband Scott of Dandridge, Tennessee; a son, Allen Hendrix and his wife Dondra of Fairmount, Georgia; a sister, Margie Duvall of Ila, Georgia; two brothers, Renith Hendrix and Marvin Hendrix, both of Ranger, Georgia; and two grandchildren, Dawson Hendrix and Donovan Hendrix. Aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Hendrix will be conducted Thursday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Junior Clayton officiating. Music will be arranged by the New Hope Trio. Active pallbearers serving will be Marshall Dwayne Hendrix, Randell Scott Hendrix, Charlie Long, Clinton Long, Junior Densmore and Clinton Hendrix. All Masonic brethren are invited to participate as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow the service at the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. The family will begin receiving friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Wednesday, after 11:00am.
