Mr. Kenneth Lamar Crump, age 62 of Calhoun, Georgia, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at his residence following a farm accident.
Mr. Crump was born on December 02, 1944 in Gordon County, son of the late Bud Crump and Geneva Wyatt Crump. He was also preceded in death by a nephew, Jason Brown. During his lifetime, he was a member of the Sonora Lodge #221 F & AM where he was Past Master, the Sonora Eastern Star Chapter # 484 where he was Past Matron, the Scottish Rite of Freemasonary, SJ. USA, the Yaarab Shriners, the Echota Vann Shrine Club, and the Fairmount Ruritan Club. He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and attended the Seekers Sunday School Class. Lamar had just recently retired from the Georgia Natural Gas Company after 40 years of service, and had received the first company given Lifetime Achievement Award.
Survivors are his wife, the former Ruby Louise Dixon to whom he was married for 41 years; one son, Eric Crump of Calhoun; two sisters, Janice Gallman and her husband Bill of Resaca, and Elaine Brown and her husband Terry of Resaca; nieces, Christa Talley, Traci Sexton and Lisa Knight, all of Calhoun; nephews, Eddie Fair, Jr. of Resaca, and Kevin Knight and Chris Knight both of Calhoun. Great nieces, Zoey Talley, Hannah Knight and McLain Knight; and great nephews, Slade Talley, Branson Coker, Trey Fair and Owen Knight also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Lamar Crump will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Darris Baker and Rev. Larry Naylor officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Fain Cemetery, with Rev. Ross Tipps conducting the graveside service. Singing will be arranged by Rev. Darris and Dottie Baker. Active pallbearers serving will include Eddie Fair, Jr., Jan Greeson, Billy Gallmon, Jimmy Galloway, Buck McBee, Billy Neal, Don Bryson and Richard Wright. These gentlemen are requested to meet at the funeral home Saturday at 12:00 noon. Honorary escort will include the members of Seekers Sunday School Class of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, the current and retired employees of Georgia Natural Gas Company; Red Robbins and Johnny Daniel. They are requested to meet at the church Saturday at 1:45 p.m. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Friday during the hours of 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. You may send a floral offering or make a contribution in memory of Lamar to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund.
