Mr. Kenneth Randall Bennett, age 37 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 at Crawford Long Medical Center.
Mr. Bennett was born on October 5, 1971 in Floyd County, son of Allen Robert and Betty Glass Bennett. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Ann Bennett. During his lifetime he was employed in the construction industry, and served as a First Responder and Fire fighter for Gordon County Fire Department. Mr. Bennett was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church where he served as assistant pastor, and was coordinator for the Food Bank. He was a faithful Christian and witnessed to many people.
He was the loving and beloved husband of Angie Lee Henderson Bennett for 18 years, and the loving and beloved father of two daughters, Kendra Leah Bennett, age 11 and Brianna Grace Bennett, age 4. Also surviving are parents, Mr. Mrs. Allen Bennett of Resaca; two sisters, Stephanie Bartlett and her husband Brian of Chatsworth, and Sarah Densmore and her husband Mike of Resaca; a brother, Jonathan Bennett and his wife Stacey of Resaca, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Randall Bennett will be conducted Sunday at 3:00pm from the House of Prayer Baptist Church on Dews Pond Road, with Joseph Henderson, Rev. J.E. Glass, and Rev. Andrew Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Canaanland Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Campbell and Rev. Kevin Thomas conducting the committal service. Active pallbearers serving will include Jonathan Bennett, Ray Heddon, Damon Henderson, George Henderson, Michael Shipman and Brian Bartlett. Honorary pallbearers selected to serve are Terry Hensley, T.J. Bennett, Derick Bennett, Dennis Glass, Fabian Henderson, Wayne Patterson, Steve Higdon, Daniel Patterson, Anthony Hodgkins and Brandon Glass. The family will receive friends at the House of Prayer Baptist Church on Saturday, beginning at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family on behalf of his children.
