Mr. Lake Jim Dean, age 74 of Resaca, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on July 14, 1935, son of the late Chester and Lois Stanley Dean. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Harper Dean. During his lifetime, he was employed by Gordon County Transportation as a mechanic.
Survivors include four sons, Jimmy Dean and his wife Vickie, and Danny Dean, all of Murray County, Ronald Dean and his wife April, and Kimsey Dean and his wife Trina, all of Resaca; a step-son, Mitchell Harper and his wife Janice; two brothers, Lile Dean and Bradley Dean; grandchildren, Justin, Stephanie, Austin, Kayla, Tyler, and Josh; and step-grandchildren, Torey Slaughter and Kenny Harper. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Lake Jim Dean will be conducted Saturday at 3:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Yoho officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
