Obituary

Charles Lamar Babb, age 77 of Searcy, Arkansas, died Monday, May 27, 2019 in Searcy. He was born October 16, 1941 in Dalton, Georgia to Arvil William Babb and Travis Retha Chitwood Babb. Lamar worked many years in the textile industry and later had a wholesale/retail business selling and installing floor coverings. He loved to play golf and travel. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Babb; one daughter, Teena Barnette and husband Keith of Judsonia; one grandson, Josh Barnette and wife Amy of Judsonia; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn Barnette of Judsonia, Joshua Barnette of Judsonia; one brother, Marshall Babb and wife Glenda of Calhoun, Georgia; one sister, Rita Gray and husband Skip of Dalton, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Vickie Hughes and husband Don of Panama City Beach, Florida; one brother-in-law, Gary Wood and wife Marsha of Calhoun, Georgia; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Charles Lamar Babb will be held Saturday, June 1st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dug Gap Baptist Church Cemetery in Dalton. Pallbearers serving will include Neal Holsomback, Jay Holsomback, David Fowler, Rodney Babb, Bill Dickie, and Eric Hughes.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
