Lamar Henderson

Mr. Richard Lamar Henderson, age 83 of Dalton, GA, formerly of Calhoun, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Hamilton Medical Center.

He was born on August 3, 1928 in Gordon County, and was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Henderson.

Mr. Henderson was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He had retired from Prater Ford of Calhoun, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dalton.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Anne Chastain Henderson, to whom he was married for 18 years; and a son, Bill Tibbs of Calhoun.

A memorial service for Mr. Richard Lamar Henderson will be conducted Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 1:00pm until the service at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his memory to the First Baptist Church of Dalton, Georgia.
