Lance Miles Meadows

July 25, 1947 — December 20, 2006

Lance Miles Meadows, 59, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, December 20th, 2006, following an extended illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Holmes Meadows, father Rembert Miles Meadows, a sister Betty Hill, and a brother Sandy Meadows.

He is survived by his sisters Sue Meadows McBee and Jackie Meadows Williams, and brother Rex Meadows, all of Calhoun. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Lance was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving 4 years. Lance was a graduate of Calhoun High School and attended Jacksonville State University. He had a love for art, music, and gardening. He was a member at All Saints Episcopal Church in Atlanta, GA. He was a founding member of the flower guild at St. Aidan's Church in Alpharetta, where he was a member for many years. Members at St. Aidan's quote, "He had amazing talent and gave his all to be sure that everything was done in a way to honor the Lord's altar. Being part of Lance's journey through his illness and healing was a spiritual journey for each of us who traveled the road with him. Because he shared this experience with us, we are stronger in our faith in God's loving care."

A memorial service to honor Lance will be in January at St. Aidan's Episcopal Church in Alpharetta. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Atlanta Humane Society or St. Aidan's Church.
