Lane Mcfarland

Mr. Colin Lane McFarland, age 41 of Fairmount, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from injuries received in an automobile accident. He was born in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania on May 22, 1968, son of the late Ray C. McFarland and Dorothy Shepley McFarland. He had been a resident of Gordon County and Fairmount since 1970.

During his lifetime, Mr. McFarland was employed as a mechanic and was in the furniture business, and was a certified scuba diver and cave diver.

Survivors include his loving mother, Dorothy McFarland of Calhoun; a loving sister and devoted brother, Nancy McFarland and Rob McFarland, both of Calhoun; brothers, Joe Fogle of Thurmont, Maryland, Richard Fogle and his wife Grace of Rouzerville, Pennsylvania, and Alan McFarland of Waco, Texas. A nephew, Jason McFarland and his wife Donna; a niece, Rachel Talerico and her husband Greg; great nieces, Eden McFarland, Bretlin McFarland, and Layla McFarland; great nephews, Jason McFarland, Jr., Tyler Sexton, Ben Talerico, and Blair McFarland, all of Calhoun; and a special cousin, Lyn Stacy of Chattanooga, Tennessee also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Colin Lane McFarland will be conducted Saturday, August 29 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Jim Stanger, Lyn Stacy, Eric White, Greg Talerico, Ted Townsend, and Kevin Fowler.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday evening from 7:00pm until 9:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to help with funeral expenses to Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, or to any Regions Bank, c/o Colin McFarland Funeral Fund.
