Larry Dean Howard Sr

Mr. Larry Dean Howard, Sr., age 57 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Midway Park, North Carolina on January 26, 1953, son of the late Ralph and Betty Howard.

Before becoming disabled, Mr. Howard was a carpenter, and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. "Oppie" will be truly missed by his family.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Kathy Thompson Howard: a son, Larry Dean Howard, Jr. of Calhoun; three daughters, Angela Olalde and her husband Valentin of Dalton, and Jennifer Gillette and Jessica Thompson, both of Calhoun; five brothers, Ralph Howard and his wife Vannessa, Robert Burke and his wife Genna, and Frank Thompson and his wife Patsy, all of Maryland, and Ricky Thompson and Mitchell Shipman, both of Calhoun; and four sisters, Merle Collins of Pennsylvania, Elaine Thompson and Sharon Davis and her husband Shawn, all of Calhoun, and Karen Milio and her husband Steve of Kissimmee, Florida. Three grandchildren, Benjamin and Rylan Olalde, and Daniel Gillette; special friends, Joey and Tina Lusk; and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Dean Howard, Sr. will be conducted Friday, April 2nd at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jether Cochran officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
