Larry Edward Ridley

Mr. Larry Edward Ridley, age 65 of Fairmount, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Gordon Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born on August 14, 1944 in Whitfield County, son of the late Claude and Bessie Mae Messiner Ridley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Seth Ridley, Billy Ridley and Lillian Powell. During his lifetime, he owned and operated a produce market and was a member of Gilmer Street Baptist Church in Cartersville.

Mr. Ridley is survived by his children, Marty Ridley and his wife Elizabeth of Woodstock, Angie Ridley Caylor of Calhoun, and Chad Ridley of Dalton; brothers, Kenneth Ridley and his wife Lana of Dalton, Elmer Ridley and his wife Martha of Cartersville, and Bobby Ridley and his wife Uerline of Warner Robbins; sisters, Allene Hughes of Ringgold, Pat Williams, and Janette Cloer and her husband Bob, both of Cleveland, Tennessee; a sister-in-law, Ruthell Ridley of Savannah; and grandchildren, Brenna Ridley, Pheonix Ridley, Cooper Ridley. Two step-grandchildren, Jack and Tommy Smith; and nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Larry Edward Ridley will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Deep Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Dalton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday morning beginning at 9:00am until the funeral hour of 11:00am.
