Larry Franklin Stanley

Mr. Larry Franklin Stanley, age 67 of Resaca, died Wednesday March 26, 2014 at Hamilton Medical Center following an extended period of declining health.

He was born in Calhoun, GA on September 13, 1946, son of Willie Smith Stanley and the late Ralph Stanley. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Stanley in 2010. Larry was retired from Mohawk Industries, and was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. He lived the greater part of his life in Gordon County, and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Stanley of Resaca; two daughters, Jamie Bagley and her husband Mike of Lexington, KY, and Wendy Justice of Calhoun; two sons, Glenn Stanley and his wife Tracy, and Chance Stanley and his wife Helen, all of Calhoun; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Reed, Alexis, Nathaniel, Jarod, Ashton and Saidi; a sister; Sherri Stanley Hill of Calhoun; and mother, Willie Smith Stanley of Calhoun; along with nephews and other relatives.

A service to celebrate the life of Larry Franklin Stanley will be held Sunday March 30th at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Ross Tipps officiating. Interment will be in Crane Eater Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Sunday between the hours of 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
