Obituary

Larry Eugene Garren, 70, of Calhoun, died Wednesday, October 9, 2019. He was born in Fannin County, GA on September 9, 1949, son of the late Otis and Annie Couch Garren.
Larry was a veteran of the US Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller from November, 1968, until February, 1976. He had previously worked with Shaw Industries, and had been the store manager for Ingles. He attended Echota Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sisters, Betty Cain, Brenda (Kenneth) McEntyre, and Patsy Sutton. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
A Memorial Service to honor his life will be held Monday, October 14th at 3:00 PM from Echota Baptist Church, with Rev. Lucas Butler officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 2:00 PM until the service hour.
Larry did not have life insurance. His family asks that instead of flowers, donations be made to Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1027, Calhoun, GA 30703.
