Larry James O'Shields

Mr. Larry James O'Shields, 67 of Calhoun, died Monday, August 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Villa Rica, GA on June 18, 1948, son of the late Jesse James and Marie Ramey O'Shields. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy O'Shields in 2009.

Larry was a graduate of Campbell High School in Smyrna. He was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He was employed with Arrow Exterminating, and previously Hand Exterminating.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean O'Shields of Houston, TX; his children, Larry James O'Shields, Jr. of Humble, TX, Angela Davis of Houston, TX, and Jesse Eugene O'Shields of Houston, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dianne and Junior Gentry, Becky Carter, and Cheryl and Ricky Johnston; a sister-in-law, Linda O'Shields; and grandchildren, Angelina, Tiffany, Donald Jr., Cheyenne, and Larry James III. A host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Larry James O'Shields will be held Friday, August 21st at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim McCulley, Bro. Lamar Hand, and Bro. Sammy Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Blackwood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, with military honors.

The O'Shields family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, August 20th from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
