Larry Mcever

Mr. Larry McEver, age 70 of Calhoun, died Monday, June 27, 2011 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on December 26, 1940 in Jasper, Georgia, son of the late Wayne McEver and the late Reeta Roper Bates. Larry was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam and was retired as owner and operator of Larry McEver Construction. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Kerri McEver; a daughter, Larriann Dixon and her husband Larry of Calhoun; a sister, Linda Whittenburg of Calhoun; his father, William Bates of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Brittany Worley and her husband Eric of Calhoun and Brooke Dixon of Calhoun. Funeral services for Mr. Larry McEver will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Music will be arranged by Mrs. Iris Parker. Pallbearers serving are Noel Roper, Danny Elrod, Rodney Goldston, Lee McGuire, Larry Stamey, and Keith Joyner. Interment will follow the service at the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00pm until 9:00pm.
