Obituary

Larry Neal Smith,67, of the Resaca Community, died at Hamilton Medical Center on Monday, March 12, 2018. Larry was born in Gordon County on March 26, 1950; he was the son of the late Troy A. and Ethel Jackson Smith. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Smith, Charles "Bud" Smith, and Frank "Danny" Smith; his close friend, Ivan Sneed. Larry worked for many years at Foam Products and retired from Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Management. He was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, and horseback riding.
Larry is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Lacresia Smith; his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberley and Scott Kittrell; his son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Michelle Smith; his grandchildren, Nicholas Kittrell, Kaitlyn Kittrell, Titus Smith, Asa Smith, and Samuel Smith; his brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Pam Smith; his sisters and brother-in-law, Glenda and Larry Fowler, and Connie Duncan; special friends, Paul Sneed, Danny Fennell, Jimmy Fennell, Jerry Bryant, and Stanley "Otis" Cole.
The Smith family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11:00 from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Rev. Johnny Massingill will officiate.
Friends may sign the online guest register at www.maxbrannonandsons.com. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home of Calhoun.
