Larry Parker

Larry Parker, 76, of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Monday, September 18, 2023.  He was born on August 15, 1947, in Dalton, Georgia to the late J.C. and Beatrice Stanfield Parker.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Taylor; brother-in-law, James Peeler.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Tressie Parker; son, Paul (Nancy) Parker; daughter, Amanda (Shaun) McCarthy; brother, Roger (Marion) Parker; sisters, Margaret Peeler, Sally (Charles) Gentry; brother-in-law, Daryl Taylor; grandchildren, Chloe Parker, Eli Parker, Connor McCarthy; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Larry loved his family dearly. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather.  He enjoyed woodworking and building swings.  He proudly served his country for four years in The United States Air Force and was a member of North Point Church in Adairsville.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons with Revs. Mitch Phillips and Gary Garland officiating.  Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating.  Pallbearers serving are Bryant McCrary, Scott McCrary, Charles Gentry, Frank Bowen, Jimmy McWilliams, and Anthony Dunford.  Honorary pallbearers are Theresa Dunford, Sherrie Gibson, Larry’s small group at North Point, and Tressie’s small group at North Point.
