Obituary

Larry L. Petty, 66, of the Sonoraville Community, died at his home on Monday September 10, 2018, following several months of declining health. Larry was born in Resaca on April 26, 1952. He was the son of the late Otis H. and Bessie Bradley Petty. Larry was a member of Belmont Baptist Church. He was head of maintenance for Western Plastics.
Larry is survived by his wife, Glenda Petty; his daughter, Natasha Petty; his sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Beth Petty, Christopher and Armenia Petty, and Nathan and Mckayla Petty; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Petty, Matthew Petty, Michaella Petty, Isabella Petty, Jessie Ruth Petty, and Christopher Petty; his sisters and brother-in-law, Kathie Huff and Ruth and R.M. Hice, and Lila and Kenneth Phillips; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Otis and Margie Petty, Jackie and Kathy Petty, Rickey and Vilinda Petty, Jimmy and Suzanne Petty; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The Petty family will receive friends on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Belmont Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from Belmont Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Erwin Hill Church of God Cemetery. Chaplain Robin Harrison and Rev. Chester Pesnell will officiate. Pallbearers are Tommy Smith, Gary Smith, Thomas Ross, Brian McKee, Ronnie Floyd, and Dan Roper. Members of the Sportsmans Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
