Laverne Sharon Silvers

Laverne Sharon Payne Silvers, 74, of Calhoun died on Thursday, April 23, 2015 following several months of declining health.

Laverne was born on November 14, 1940; she was the daughter of the late Walter and Edna Payne. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Wayne Silvers, in 2013, and by her brother, R.T. Payne. For many years, she was an associate in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart.

Survivors include her sons, Scott Silvers and Mark Silvers, both of Calhoun; her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Stanley Edwards; six grandchildren, Cody Edwards, Kayla Silvers, Anthony Silvers, Autumn Silvers, Sydney Silvers, and Josey Seth Silvers; her great-granddaughter, Roslyn Blaylock.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Burial will follow at Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers are Garyn Sims, William Croft, Dick Nesbitt, Ralph Charles, Anthony Silvers, and Josey Seth Silvers.
