Obituary

Mr. Lawrence J. Johnson, 90, of the Ranger Community, died Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born in Murray County, GA on March 5, 1930, son of the late, George William Johnson and Nettie Pack Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Lou Wilson Johnson on February 28, 2020. He was the last among his siblings. Prior to retirement he owned and operated Johnson Logging and was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War, having been awarded the Korean Service Medal and United Nations Service Medal. He was a Christian and a member of Concord Baptist Church.
Survivors include; three sons and daughters-in-law; Nick and Shirley Johnson, Steven and Marica Johnson and Ken and Vickie Johnson, Daughter and son-in-law, Lesa and Bob Belcher, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, Brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; Charles Wilson, Edward and Sheila Wilson, Rev. Sammy and Jimmie Lou Allen, Katie Sosebee, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services for Lawrence J. Johnson will be conducted Friday, April 24, 2020, at 3:00 PM from Concord Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Sammy Allen officiating, music will be arranged by Jimmie Lou Allen. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Concord Missionary Baptist Church between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family encourages everyone who chooses to come to the visitation and/or attend the funeral service, to consider their safety and the safety of others and practice social distancing.
