Mrs. Lenela Mae Woodson, age 70 of Calhoun, Georgia passed away Tuesday February 26, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Bartow County on March 12, 1937, daughter of the late Alvin and Esther Brumlow Rogers. Mrs. Woodson was a member of the Erwin Hill Church of God. Mrs. Woodson left Calhoun in 1964 and just returned to Calhoun in January 2008. She left to travel with her husband who was in the Air Force for 22 years.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Erwin and Myrtle Rogers and Sidney Johnson Brumlow and Josie Brumlow.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Robert Randall Woodson; one son and daughter-in-law, Lamar Bohannon and his wife Lidia of Fresno, California; one daughter, Tisha Lynn Woodson of Calhoun; three sisters, Margurite Bonds and her husband Chris of Dalton, Jeanette Holbrook and her husband Gene of Calhoun, and Geneva Mathis of Dalton. Grandchildren; Jordan Irwin, Melissa Bohannon, Nubia Yanez, Michael Bohannon; one great grandson, Anthony Yanez, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lenela Mae Woodson will be conducted Saturday March 1, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. from the chapel of the Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Holbrook, Rev. Kenny Rogers and Rev. Chris Bonds officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Blackwood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers serving will include Rev. Derek Holbrook, Rev. Kenny Rogers, Greg Bowman, Rev. Chris Bonds, Johnny Benton and Jordon Irwin. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will include Gary Champion, Gene Holbrook, Melissa Bohannon, Nubia Yanez, Jonathan Mathis, Gage Bowman, Chase Holbrook, Dawson Holbrook, Diane Kenney, Tammy Bowman, Allison Holbrook, Douglas Mathis, Lena Mathis and Tessa Bowman. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m.
