Leonard Lamar Underwood

Mr. Leonard Lamar Underwood, age 70 of Resaca, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Catoosa County, GA on July 28, 1940, son of the late Jim and Tildia Jones Underwood. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Sue Jackson Underwood; a son, Waylon Underwood, several brothers and sisters, and a great-granddaughter.

Survivors include a daughter, Shelia Mefford of Calhoun; a brother, Lowell Underwood of Dalton; and two sisters, Sue Williams of Resaca, and Ann Dean of Plainville. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Misty Kittle and Kristy Holder; and three great-grandchildren, Harley Holder, Austin Kittle, and Zoee Kittle. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Leonard Lamar Underwood will be conducted Wednesday, February 16th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Wesley Hunt and David Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial Baptist Church. Active pallbearers are Danny Dean, Chris Dean, Billy Patton, Dane Kittle, Jimmy Holder, and Josh Dean. Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Long, Jeremy Sisson, Chad Ray, and Kenny Faulkner.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
