Obituary

Lester Knight, 79, of Gordon County died Sunday, October 18, 2020. He was born on November 16, 1940 in Gordon County to the late Robert and Mary Lee Duncan Knight. He is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Jerry Childs and Ray Noland.
Lester worked in the carpet business. He loved tractors, motorcycles, and was an avid horseshoe player. He was a lifelong member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and took care of the church grounds. After the passing of his father he stepped up to take care of his loving Mother. He will be missed dearly by the ones he loved.
He is survived by his siblings, Jean Knight Casey (Jerry), Margie Knight Moss (Lawrence), Carolyn Childs, and Debbie Knight Noland; nieces and nephews, Randy (Dana) Casey, Brent (Patricia) Casey, Carmen (Stan) Penland, Chastain (Trina) Moss, Shane (Julie) Moss, Kim Oesterle (Kevin), Bryan (Jennifer) Childs, Jared (Madison) Noland, and Jennifer Noland; his close friend, Bob Oesterle.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow the visitation on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. from the church with Rev. Ronnie Wells, Rev. Bryan Childs, and Rev. Winford Casey officiating. For those wishing to take part in the service from their cars, you may pull into the parking lot of the church and tune your FM radio to 102.1 to hear the service.
