Lillian Frances Highfield

Mrs. Lillian Frances Highfield, age 81 of Calhoun, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 at her residence. She was born in Dade County on January 22, 1928, daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn Payne Ross. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Daniel Highfield on April 28, 2002, and a brother, Melvin Ross. During her lifetime, Mrs. Highfield was a homemaker, and was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law. Robert and Susie Stalvey of Spring City, Tennessee; two stepsons, Butch Highfield and his wife Nancy of Cedartown, and Buddy Highfield and his wife Cindy of Calhoun; three step daughters, Ramona Hudgins and her husband Tony of Calhoun, Sherry Purdy and her husband Ronnie of Rome, and Deborah Piper and her husband Doug of Rome; and two sisters, Katherine McSorley and Betty Goalen, both of Florida. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Frances Highfield will be conducted Wednesday, April 15 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include the deacons of Heritage Baptist Church, and they are asked to meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 1:30pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Tuesday between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm.
