Mrs. Lillian Rogers Greeson, 89 of Ringgold, GA, formerly of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at her home. She was born in Murray County on November 29, 1925, daughter of the late Thomas and Callie Cowart Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Vernon Greeson; a son, Larry Kinsey; brothers, James, Robert, Luke, and Gene Rogers; and a sister, Dorothy Moorehead Blalock.
Mrs. Greeson was Valedictorian of the Sugar Valley School, class of 1945. She loved to travel and work in her garden. She retired as Nurse Supervisor from Parkridge Hospital with over 30 years service. She was a member of Nellie Head Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Jackie Kinsey of Dalton, and Sammy and Carolyn Kinsey of Calhoun; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mattie Sue and Edsel (Red) Robbins of Calhoun, Tommie and Harry Frix of Calhoun, Grace Bowling of Dalton, and Edith Heuither of Rome; her grandson, Thomas Ashley Kinsey and his wife Steffnie of Dalton; and a very special friend and neighbor, Donna Walker. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Lillian Rogers Greeson will be held Thursday, October 1st at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Gaston Martin, Kenneth Moorehead, Lamar Moorehead, Harry Frix, Ashley Kinsey, and Edsel (Red) Robbins.
The Greeson family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2:00 PM until the service hour.
