Mrs. Lillie Mae Temples Treadway, of Calhoun, passed away Monday, November 9, 2009 at Cartersville Medical Center. She was born in Bartow County on July 18, 1927, daughter of the late James Griffin Temples and Nettie Belle Wigley Temples. Mrs. Treadway was retired from the textile industry, and was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church in Adairsville.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Treadway; three brothers, Clifford Temples, James (Bo) Temples, and Hudson Temples; six sisters, Myrtle Temples, June Towe, Rube Dover, Bernice Massey, Ivanette Davenport, and Clydis Bishop; and a grandson, Tracy Cannon.
Survivors include a son, James Cannon and his wife Barbara of Calhoun; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Cannon; six grandchildren, Russell Cannon, Michael, Stephen, and Brian Cannon, Melissa Frain and her husband Douglas, and Greg Karnes; nine great-grandchildren, Paige Frain, Hope Frain, Chrissy Cannon, Christy Mathis, Shannon Meyer, Kimberly Karnes, Greggory Neil Karnes, Brittany Wyles, and Melissa Ann Cannon; a great-granddaughter, Kada Cannon; and step-grandchildren, Chris Chamlee, Carter Lynn Chamlee, and Scott and Donna Chamlee. Several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and her extended family and friends at Starcrest Nursing Home also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Mae Temples Treadway will be conducted Wednesday, November 11th at 2:00pm from the Dry Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Larry Towe and Rev. Harold Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the Dry Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Jason Mulkey, Michael Cannon, Blake Jordan, Don Massey, Jr., J.D. Mulkey, and Douglas Frain. The family will receive friends at Dry Creek Baptist Church on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 2:00pm.
