Mrs. Lillie Mae McBrayer Timms, age 90, passed away Saturday morning, April 12, 2008 at Gordon Health Care Center following an extended illness.

Mrs. Timms was born on January 10, 1918 in Gordon County, daughter of the late John Love McBrayer and Minnie Mae Rogers McBrayer. Mrs.. Timms was preceded in death by her husband Rob Timms; one sister, Ollene McBrayer Hicks, and five brothers, Arthur Leon McBrayer, R.D. McBrayer, Thurman McBrayer, Jack Carlton McBrayer, and Lawrence McBrayer. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was retired from O'Jay Mills of Calhoun and was a member of the Pine Chapel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Mae McBrayer Timms will be conducted Monday at 3:00pm from the Pine Chapel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Singing will be arranged by Mrs. Faye Land. Active pallbearers serving will include Tony McBrayer, John McBrayer, Travis McBrayer, Carlton McBrayer, Jason Wells, and Jerome Dodd. The staff of Gordon Health Care Center will serve as honorary escort. Interment will follow the service at the Pine Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Sunday evening during the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Timms to the Pine Chapel Cemetery Fund, c/o J.O. Brackett, P.O. Box 1862, Calhoun, Georgia 30701.
