Linda Mae Aldridge, 74 of Calhoun, died Friday, September 8, 2017, at her home. She was born in Gordon County on February 22, 1943, daughter of the late Oscar and Johnnie Belle Payne Howerton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Howerton, in 1994.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Most of all she loved the Lord. She was of the Church of God faith. She was employed with Cherokee Nursing Home as a CNA for several years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Karen Aldridge of Calhoun; her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Ronald Gill of Calhoun; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jamie Howerton of Rome; grandchildren, Michael and Nicole Davis, Harley Gill and Shannon Cline, Kimberly Aldridge, Pierce Aldridge, and Alyssa Aldridge; step-grandchildren, Deyonna Qualls, Ron Gill, and Wendy Martin; great-grandchildren, Briley Williams, Cian Davis, and Oli Gill; nine step-great grandchildren; and two great-great granddaughters. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Services to honor the life of Linda Mae Aldridge will be held Monday, September 11th, at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Timms officiating. Music will be arranged by Nathan Stinson. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Harley Gill, Michael Davis, Shawn Denton, Bobby Howerton, Jerry Aldridge, and Melvin Kimbrell. Special escorts are Pierce Aldridge, Alyssa Aldridge, Briley Williams, and Cian Davis.
The Aldridge family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 10th from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
