Mrs. Lois Mae Cox Savage, 82 of Calhoun, died Thursday, June 30, 2016. She was born in Deep Run, North Carolina on April 1, 1934, daughter of the late Joseph S. Cox and Alma S. Smith Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Joseph Savage; a son, Ernest L. Robertson; and brothers, James B. Cox and Joseph M. Cox.
Mrs. Savage was loved by everyone. She never met a stranger. She was a homemaker and she will be missed by all. She really enjoyed herself when she volunteered at the Salvation Army. She would help cook and serve everyone. She had also attended East Calhoun Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Graham and her husband Bobby of Calhoun, Frances S. Platt and her fiancAC. Stephan Bower of Calhoun, and Linda Pecorrella and her husband Victor of Calhoun; a son, Raymond Savage and his wife Kim of Greenville, NC; sisters, Eleanor Pate of Grifton, NC, Janice Wade and her husband Allen of Kinston, NC, and Linda Corte and her husband Henry of Kinston, NC; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
