Lonnie Mae Serritt

Mrs. Lonnie Mae Serritt, age 80 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, March 14, 2008 following several months of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on February 25, 1928, daughter of the late Jonah William and Annie Beatrice White Talley. Mrs. Serritt was retired from Lacey-Champion Carpets, and was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers; Vance, Spencer, and Harbon Talley; and sisters; Delavenia Dobbs and her twin sister, Lonie Talley.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law; Roger and Shyrel Serritt of Calhoun, Rickey and Theresa Serritt of Kennesaw, and Nathan and Miranda Serritt of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Tyrone Wilson of Calhoun; and a sister, Christine Ellison of Greenville, South Carolina. Ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lonnie Mae Serritt will be conducted Sunday, March 16 at 3:00pm from the Concord Baptist Church, with Rev. Sammy Allen, Rev. Randy Sutherland, and Rev. Denver Boling officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Juston Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Bryan Holt, Lee Woodring, Clark Miller, and Kansas Serritt. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Sunday at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday between the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm.
