Loraine Harrison Holland

Mrs. Loraine Harrison Holland, age 85 of Calhoun, died Thursday, September 3rd, 2009 in Gordon Health Care following several years declining health. She was born in Alabama on September 16, 1923, daughter of the late Lester and Jessie Harrison. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husbands, Ralph Johns, Alton Balliew, and Robert Holland; and by two brothers, Lonnie Harrison and Calvin Harrison.

Mrs. Holland is survived by three sons, Max Johns and his wife Bobbie, Billy Johns and his wife Peggy, and Randy Johns and his wife Wanda, all of Nicklesville; three daughters, Joan Bright and her husband Jackie of Chatsworth, Linda Holmes and her husband Alan of Nicklesville, and Judy Stewart and her husband Anthony of Calhoun; two step-daughters, Patty Holland Mooney and her husband Bobby of Dalton, and Joanie Balliew; two step-sons, Jimmy Balliew and David Holland; two sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Bell of Calhoun, and Mrs. Johnny Faye Johns of Rome; and a brother, C.B. Harrison and a sister-in-law, Betty Harrison. Eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Loraine Harrison Holland will be held Saturday, September 5th at 3:00 PM from Corinth Baptist Church, with Rev. Jimmie Timms and Rev. Donald Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Marion Clayton will be in charge of the music. The body will be placed in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Pallbearers serving include Michael Johns, Mitchell Johns, Sam Bright, Stacy Bright, Chris Stewart, Preston Johns and Cody Johns. These gentlemen are requested to assemble at the funeral home Saturday at 1:00 PM.
