Mrs. Lou Sherman, age 75 of Calhoun, GA passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Redmond Regional Medical Center following several years of declining health. She was born in Gordon County on April 14, 1936, daughter of the late Robert and Victoria Sission Freeman. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Ken Sherman, and a brother, Lonnie Freeman.

Mrs. Sherman had worked in the textile industry during her lifetime, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Wayne Sherman; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Donny Worley; a sister, Elsie Cook; two grandchildren, Cassie Worley and Cody Worley; a great-grandchild, Emerson Worley; and a favorite niece, Linda Connally; all of Calhoun.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Sherman will be held Friday, November 18th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Hugh Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery with Rev. Terry Timms conducting the committal service. Active pallbearers will include Carmen Caldwell, Ricky Holden, Jeff Rampy, Shane Serritt, Rodney Puge, and Cody Worley. Honorary pallbearers are Parham Hammontree, Glenn Carden, M.D. Casey, Kip Connally, Roy Chadwick, and James England.

The Sherman family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
