Louis Edward Bingiel

Mr. Louis Edward Bingiel, age 62 of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born on February 22, 1947 in Washington, Pennsylvania, son of the late Louis Andrew Bingiel and Lorrine Bingle. During his lifetime he served with the United States Army, having served two tours in the Vietnam War. After service to his country, he was employed in the trucking industry. Mr. Bingiel was a member of the Tabernacle of Praise.

Survivors are his wife, Brenda Dupree Bingiel, to whom he was married for 41 years; a daughter, Tina Culberson and her husband Scott; a son, Michael Bingiel and his wife Missy; five grandchildren, Louis Andrew Bingiel III, Dakota Lee Culberson, Christopher Michael Bingiel, Noah Elliott Bingiel, and Tekoa Lorraine Michelle Culberson; and two sisters, Monia Emrock and her husband Tom, and Regina Watkins and her husband Don, all of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Louis Edward Bingiel will be conducted Thursday at 4:00pm from the Tabernacle of Praise, with Rev. Roy Smith and Rev. Jackie Dutton officiating. Music will be arranged by Joel Dupree and Derek Holbrook. Active pallbearers serving will include Desimond Fox, Mike Nance, Ryan Swably, Shane Causby, Jackie Dutton, Jr., and Gerald Culberson. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Swably, David Burchett, Preston Dupree, Lloyd Bowers, Alvin Hale, Terry Hopper, Dr. Sam Jewett, Larry Stanley, Howard Blalock and Wayne Ballard. The active and honorary pallbearers are requested to meet at the Tabernacle of Praise on Thursday at 3:30 pm. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Mr. Bingiel will lie in state at the Tabernacle of Praise on Wednesday, where the family will receive friends, beginning at 3:00pm.
