Louise Fowler

Mrs. Louise Fowler, age 92 of Calhoun, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. She was born in Walker County, GA on April 11, 1919, daughter of the late Guy and Nellie Estelle Tate Richardson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wesley Fowler, Sr. in 1956; a son, Albert Fain Fowler in 1982; a brother, Henry Albert Richardson in 1960; and two sisters, Jessie Ruth Stanley in 1976, and Geneva Crump in 1968.

After the death of Louise's spouse, she remained a widow for 55 years. During this time she finished raising four of her five children. She worked at GA Tufters until her retirement at age 66. She had been a member of South Calhoun Baptist Church since 1951 and had participated in numerous services.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Fowler of McCalla, AL, and Kenneth and Jerrie Fowler of Resaca; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Estelle and Wayne Towe, and Bertie and Lee Roy Wilson, all of Calhoun. Grandchildren surviving are Greg and Corrine Wilson, Chris and Sabrina Howard, Kerry and Pennie Hobgood, Bryan and Robin Bohannon, Donnie and Angie Maness, Robbie Towe, Rob and Anna Fowler, Nathan and Ginger Tipton, Cathy Carter, Casey and Judy Carter, and Dewayne and Amelia Smith. Twenty-five great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Lois Fowler, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Fowler will be held Friday, March 16th at 2:00pm from the South Calhoun Baptist Church, with Rev. Gary Bowman and Rev. Gary Quarles officiating. Mrs. Fowler's body will lie in state at the church from 1:00pm until the funeral hour of 2:00pm. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitfield County. Active pallbearers include Chris Howard, Greg Wilson, Kerry Hobgood, Bryan Bohannon, Rob Fowler, and Donnie Maness.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
