Louise Mitchell

Louise Mitchell, 86, of Calhoun, died at Gordon Healthcare on Thursday, June 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born in Bartow County, GA on October 21, 1930, daughter of the late Thomas Watson and Millie Mae Stover Mullis. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Mitchell in 2005; her brother, Edward Mullis; and her sister, Geraldine Owen.
Louise was a homemaker. She loved gardening, the mountains, and watching the birds and squirrels. She cherished her neighbors, and was a wonderful and caring mother, a faithful and loving wife, and a caregiver to many. She was an active member of Belmont Baptist Church until her health began to decline. While at Belmont, she will be fondly remembered for working with the children, teaching Mission Friends, and childrens Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Louise is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene "Gene" and Geraldine "Sissy" Mitchell, and Bill and Rosemary Mitchell, all of Calhoun; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandi Richardson Dutton and Mitch Dutton of Calhoun, Joy and Jule Medders of Resaca, and Lynn and Daryl Bryan of Peachtree Corners; her grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) West, Stacy (Rob) Mikesell, Robby (Jill) Richardson, Mitch Richardson, Cheyenne (Priscilla) Medders, Carson (Megan) Medders, Will (Katie) Medders, Savannah Bryan, Dallas Bryan, Kayla Mitchell, Jenna (Doug) Esget, Cameron Bryant, Cody Holm, Britany Pierce, and the late Joshalynn Degolier (Joseph); her great-grandchildren, Skyler, Emily, Allison, Noah, Brooke, Max, Rex, Chet, Cora, Matthew, Samson, Scarlett, Amber Rose, Aydan, Axel, and Dale; her brother and sister-in-law, Delmar and Ethel Mullis; her treasured son-in-law, Robert Richardson; her brother-in-law, Bill Owen; many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special fur baby, Petey.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Louise Mitchell will be held Sunday, June 11th at 4:00 PM from Belmont Baptist Church, with Pastor Stephen Williams and Dr. John Allen officiating. Jim Sellers will have charge of the music. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Chandler Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Belmont Baptist Church on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the service hour of 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Harris Radiation Therapy Center, 1035 Red Bud Road NE, Calhoun, GA 30701 in Louise Memory.
