Louise Morgan Evans

Mrs. Louise Morgan Evans, age 91 of Calhoun, died Saturday September 22, 2007 in Gordon Health Care, after two years declining health.

Mrs. Evans was born in Cedar Bluff, Alabama on January 12, 1916, daughter of the late James H. Morgan and Beulah Nowlin Morgan. Mrs. Evans was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Evans and by a daughter, Margaret Meeks, two grandchildren, Richard Harris and Abby Harris, and by eight brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her family, which includes three daughters; Patsy Harris, Charlotte Colston and Linda Hammonds, all of Calhoun; two sons, Cicero Evans of Martin, and Georgia and Paul Evans of Calhoun; and one sister in law, Ruby Morgan. Sixteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, with a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 24th at 2:00 P.M. from Antioch Baptist Church, with Rev. William Roberts and Rev. Leroy Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Mrs. Katherine Quinn will have charge of the music. Pallbearers serving will include Evan Moon, Andrew McKenzie, Jacob Meeks, Kenneth, Keith and Robert Hammonds, Brandon Tate, Dustin Gowens, Travis Sunnell, and Caleb Johns. Honorary pallbearers will include the Orange Blossom Trail nursing aides of Gordon Health Care.
