Loyd Dilbeck

Mr. Loyd Estes Dilbeck, age 82 of Calhoun, Georgia, died Tuesday morning, March 27, 2007 at the Calhoun Health Care Center.

Mr. Dilbeck was born on March 12, 1925 in Dawson County, Georgia, son of the late Emory and Ioma Ruddell Dilbeck. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Williams, Estelle Reeves and a brother, Lewis Dilbeck. He had lived most of his lifetime in Gordon County where he retired from O'Jay Mills and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Mr. Dilbeck is survived by his wife, Lucy Rogers Dilbeck, to whom he was married for 52 years; one son; Travis Stephens and his wife, Pam of Calhoun, Georgia; three grandchildren; Todd Stephens, Julie Stephens Reece and Shanna Stephens McEntire; eight great grandchildren; three sisters; Juanita Cox of Taylorsville, Geraldine Hammond of Newnan, Georgia and Shirley Greeson of the Plainville Community; and one brother; Dudley Dilbeck of Adairsville, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Loyd Estes Dilbeck will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Steven Pearson and Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Singing will be arranged by Mr. Gene Smith. Active pallbearers serving will include Todd Stephens, Ray Reece, Barry McEntire, Jack Brown, Kenneth Williams and Eugene Pulliam. Honorary escort will be the members of the New Zion Baptist Church Adult Sunday School Class. Burial will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jacky Waits conducting the graveside rites.
