Lucille Cornwell Glass

Lucille Cornwell Glass, 98, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on April 26, 2025. She was born on January 12, 1927, to the late George and Maybelle Higdon Cornwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Rev. J.E. Glass; daughter-in-law, Freda Glass; brothers, Henry Walter Cornwell and George Franklin Cornwell; sisters, Audrey Mae Cornwell, Thelma Jewel Glass, Georgia Cornwell, Helen Dunaway, and Anita Marie Cornwell; grandsons, Kenneth Bennett and Dennis Glass and brothers-in-law, Tommy Glass, Walt Dunaway, and Willard Busby.

Lucille was a faithful member of Canaanland Baptist Church.

Lucille is survived by her children, David (Tammy) Glass, Elvin Glass, Betty (Alan) Bennett, and Judy (Mitchell) Patterson; sister, Carrie Lannette Busby; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Cornwell and Shirley Cornwell;; grandchildren, Jonathan (Stacey) Bennett, Stephanie (Brian) Bartlett, Angie Bennett, Sarah (Derreck) Dobson, Brandon (Brittney) Glass, Wayne (Lori) Patterson, Daniel Patterson, and Colton Glass; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Canaanland Baptist Church.

The funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 2:00 PM from Canaanland Baptist Church with Bros. Isaac Johns, R.V. Stanley, and Jether Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Bro. Adam Thomas officiating. Pallbearers are Jonathan Bennett, Brandon Glass, Wayne Patterson, Steven Cornwell, Daniel Patterson, Hunter Cantrell, Brian Bartlett, Dillan Glass, and Ezekial Glass.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Homespun Hospice and her devoted sitters, Dee Hedden, Bobbi Mulkey, Erika Tate, Beverly Minter, Tania Quinn, and Angie Bennett.
