Lucille Grace Nix

Mrs. Lucille Grace Bowman Nix, 91 of Fairmount, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She was born in Talbotton, GA on July 23, 1925, daughter of the late Bruce Bowman and Sallie Mae Gilbert Bowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married in July of 1952, Hugh Gaston Nix Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Judy Nix; a brother, Bruce Bowman; and sisters, Willie Mae Delatorre and Betty Jo Sheriff.
Mrs. Nix was a member of Sonoraville Baptist Church. She worked at Lockheed from July of 1951 until July of 1983. She was an Office Manager and Analyst when she retired.
She is survived by her son, Gary L. Nix; a brother, Jack Bowman; grandchildren, Chuck Nix and his wife Tiffany and Michele Berrong and her husband Jason; great grandchildren, Samantha Nix, Colton Berrong, and Gracelyn Berrong.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 24th at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. Chuck Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Jason Berrong, Jimmy Fox, Louie McEntyre, Bobby Hoag, Gary Lanier, and Kenny Sheriff. Honorary pallbearers are Kirk Jarret and Colton Berrong.
The Nix family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23rd from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
