Calhoun, GA

Mrs. Lucy Jones Hatt, 90, of the New Town Community, departed this life on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Lucy was born in Murray County, Georgia, on May 9, 1934, and was raised in the Chief Vann House. Her father and mother were both sharecroppers on the plantation. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Rachael Sisson and Brenda Gayle Simerly.

Survivors include her son, Charles (Chuck) Hatt Jr.; daughters Connie Desrosier, Marie Cook, Judy McCormick, and Karen Glass; sister, Sue Lyles; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
