Lynette Elrod

Mrs. Lynette Elrod, age 52 of Calhoun, passed away Friday July 24, 2009 at the Heartland Hospice Center. Lynette was born in Goldsboro, NC on July 11, 1957, daughter of the late Charles Phipps and the late Barbara Callahan Phipps. She worked at Mohawk Industries and attended East Calhoun Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Elrod; two daughters, Kim Swafford, and Kira Batson and her husband Travis; two step daughters, Cristy and April Elrod; a stepson, Leroy Elrod, all of Calhoun; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Tina Phipps of Calhoun; two sisters, Beth Channell of Cartersville and Cindy Phipps of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Teresa Moore; and two grandchildren, Channon Swafford and Cassidy Batson. Aunts, nieces, nephews and other relative also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lynette Elrod will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. from chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Pastor Keith Reid officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane Eater Cemetery. Pallbearers serving will include Kyle Wilson, Chris Phipps, Bruce Hensley, Scott Bauder, Buddy Moore, Aaron Craig and Joe Weaver. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
