Obituary

Mabelene (Mabel) Stanley Holbrook, 84, of Calhoun, died Sunday, September 19, 2020, at her residence.
Mrs. Holbrook was born in Shannon, Georgia on October 22, 1935, daughter of the late William Baxter Stanley and Addie Lou Carroll Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters; Martha Roberts, Learnie Dodd, Daffie Faulkenberry, Wincie Raines, and Willie Mae Hazelwood, brothers; Baxter Stanley, Virgil Stanley, Bowen "Bo" Stanley, and her first husband; James H. Kirby.
Survivors include her daughter; Kimberley Holbrook Anderson of Alpharetta, Georgia, two grandsons; Samuel Anderson and Joel Anderson, sister; Mossie Couey, brothers; Buford Charlie Stanley, Benny (Louise) Stanley, sister-in-law; Lee Stanley, and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mabelene Stanley Holbrook will be conducted Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Brent Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. The service will be recorded and can be viewed later on her obituary page at www.maxbrannonandsons.com.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 22, 2020, between the hours of 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Homestead Palliative Care of Dalton for the care and love Mrs. Holbrook received from them.
To attend the visitation and funeral service, a face covering will be required and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
