Mrs. Margaret Louise Owens of College Street, Calhoun went to her eternal home in heaven at 9:15 p.m. October 31, 2007. Mrs. Owens was born May 23, 1919 in Summerville, Georgia but spent most of her life in Shannon and Calhoun. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Lonnie Bell Pierce and was also preceded death by a brother George Pierce. She was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Mount Vernon Mills Inc. She was a devoted mother, a loving grandmother, a proud great-grandmother and was known for her compassionate heart and generous spirit. She was married to the late Arthur M. Owens, who preceded her in death on May 22, 2005. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, M.L. "Bud" & Vicki Owens of Calhoun and one stepson and step daughter-in-law, James A. & Dee Owens of Renton, Washington; three grandchildren, Jennifer Owens and Joshua Owens of Calhoun, Leah (Mrs. David) Owens Honea of Armuchee; four step-grandchildren, James David Owens of Seaside, Oregon, Anthony R. Owens of Juno, Alaska, Michael Owens of San Jose, California, and Jessie Owens of Oregon City, Oregon; one great grandchild, Braxton Honea of Armuchee and one step great grandchild, Megan Owens of Oregon City, Oregon. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and two loving caregivers, Teresa Davis of Calhoun and Beatrice Lombard of Scottsville. Services to celebrate the life of Margaret Louise Owens will be held Saturday, November 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Brannon and Rev. Clifford Free officiating. Dr. Michele Taylor will have charge of music. Interment will follow in the family lot of Chandler Cemetery with Rev. W.H. Scoggins. Pallbearers will include officers and members of the Gordon Emergency Medical Service Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will include Keith Burger, Grover L. Dinsmore, Rev. W.H. Scoggins, Deacon Balliew, Rev. Gay Grizzle, Ralph Holt, and Charles L. Hatt, Jr. The family will receive friends Friday evening 6:30 A
