Obituary

Margaret Ruth Hayes Whitfield, 77, died Thursday, June 13, 2019. She was born on October 6, 1941; daughter of the late Thomas Walker Hayes and Mammie Joe Green Hayes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sisters-in-law, Eugene Hayes, Paul Hayes, Bobby Joe Hayes, and Verlyn Hayes; and a brother-in-law, Lamar Davis.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Karen Whitfield; grandchildren, Mikayla Whitfield, Tony J. Whitfield, Wendy and Josh Fox, Cody Whitfield, and Mandy Brown; 10 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Phyllis Hayes, Robert and Dixie Hayes, Eva Hayes,Ruth Hayes and Gretta Hayes; sisters and brother-in-law, Helen Davis and Shirley and Richard Gibson; a special nephew and niece, Clint and Jenny Hayes; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 14th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Calvin Anderson will officiate. Music will be arranged by James Satterfield. Burial will follow at Gordon Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers serving are Clint Hayes, Chad Hayes, Noah Wilson, Lark Hayes, Joshua Fox, and Billy Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are the staff of Calhoun Health Care.
