Marie Blair Bray

Mrs. Marie Blair Bray, age 94 of Adairsville, GA passed away Wednesday morning, August 27, 2014 at Gordon Health Care. She was born in Cedartown, GA on May 9, 1919, daughter of the late Cleveland C. and Eva Lou Gowens Blair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Arthur Bray in 1970; brothers, Truman Blair of Springfield, MO, Minyord Blair of Cullman, AL, and Winfred Blair; and sisters, Elsie Tucker of Tuscumbia, AL, Oma Tillman of Cullman, AL, Marian Burkart of Decatur, AL, and Gloria Yeager of Cullman.

Mrs. Bray was the oldest living member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, having been a member since 1943.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Yvonne Bray of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Mark Lindberg of Adairsville; a sister, Faye Arndt of Vinemount, AL; grandchildren, Celeste Culpepper, Laura Rutledge, Kristy Jones, and Russ Long; step-grandchildren, Carl Creel and Truth Harrill; and great-grandchildren, Aiden and Allorah Long, Christina and Carly, Chelsea, Hannah, Ty, Adam, Ell Grace and John, and Sage and Journey.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Marie Blair Bray will be held Friday, August 29th at 2:00 PM from the Oak Grove Baptist Church, 997 Brownlee Mountain Road SW, Adairsville, GA, with Rev. Gary Garland and Rev. Loy Frix officiating. Music will be arranged by the King Family. Mrs. Brays body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Oothcalooga Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Fain King, Harold Burnette, William Jones, Talmadge Hollaran, John Worley, and Frank Moorehead. Donald Worley will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Bray had requested donations be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church.

The Bray family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday, August 28th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
