Mrs. Marilyn Clayton, age 66 of Calhoun, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Gordon Hospital. She was born in Marion, OH on July 9, 1945, daughter of the late Willis and Dorothy Albert Snare. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Snare.

During her lifetime, Mrs. Clayton was a hairdresser for 23 years, and had been employed with the Marion Star and the Calhoun Times since 1992 where she retired.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Dan Clayton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Jason Gallman of Calhoun, Melissa and Stephen Worley of Calhoun, and Tammy and Scott Shawver of Marion, OH; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Ruth Manier Snare, Earl and June Snare, and Charles and Pat Snare, all of Marion; a sister, Marjorie Young and her husband Jim of LaRue, OH, and mother-in-law, Marjorie Clayton. Grandchildren surviving are Kayla Bell, Lacey Bell, Jayce Gallman, Mady Gallman, and Adrienne Worley.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marilyn Clayton will be held Monday, August 15th at 11:00am from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Hare officiating. Interment will follow in Gordon Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will include Brian Brown, Scott Shawver, Jason Gallman, Stephen Worley, Billy Steele, James Bell, and Jayce Gallman.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
