Mrs. Martha Anice Bryant Gibson, age 49, of the Ryo Community, Fairmount, GA, passed away Friday September 19, 2014 at her home following several years of declining health.
Martha was born in Pickens County, Georgia on January 18, 1965, daughter of J.R. and Evelyn Bryant. She was a member of the 1983 graduating class of Pickens High School. Marthas family and church were always a very important part of her life. She was a very active member of the Ludville Church of God. Martha was employed by Lucent Technologies as a customer service representative for nearly 30 years. She always looked forward to teaching her Sunday School Primary Class and Children Church. Martha will always be remembered as being very kind and quiet person. But, when she spoke her words were meaningful and heart felt. Martha was always a true friend that loved you unconditionally.
Martha is survived by her husband of 30 years, Michael A. Gibson. She was the patient and loving Mother of Aubrey Gibson and Ben Gibson. Other survivors include brother, Jerry Bryant; four sisters, Wanda Ferguson, Shirley and Gary Moore, Mary and Steve Pack, Tracey and Lawrence Lee; brother-in-law David and Sue Gibson; sister-in-law Deborah and Jr. Craig. Several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews also survive. Her survivors were not just her family, they were her friends.
Services to celebrate the life of Martha Anice Gibson will be held Monday, September 22nd at 2:00 PM from Ludville Church of God, with Bro. Bill Tatum, Pastor Jared Raines, and Brother Junior Craig officiating. Music will be arranged by Brian Craig. Interment will follow at Ryo Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Joel Collis, Noel Collis, Tyler Collis, Mitchell Silvers, Shane McDougle, and Jimmy Kelly. Honorary pallbearers wil include the men of Ludville Church of God.
The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
