Martha Dutton

Mrs. Martha Ann Dutton age 62 of Resaca, died Wednesday January 3rd, 2007 in Gordon Hospital following "four years as a Breast Cancer Survivor."

Mrs. Dutton was born in Gordon County on March 26, 1944. She was the daughter of the late B.W. Johns and Cora Lee Goforth Johns. She had worked in the textile industry and was a lifelong resident of Gordon County.

Mrs. Dutton was preceded in death by a son; Donald Dewey Dutton and two brothers; Lee Roy Johns and Westley Johns.

Survivors include one son, Billy Dutton of Calhoun and four daughters, Ann Knight and her husband Greg of Jasper, GA; Nellie Coe and her husband Junior of Whitetop, VA; Debra Cordell and her husband Doug of Resaca and Donna Dutton of Calhoun. Five sisters, Malisey (Sissy) Dutton of Calhoun; Edna Kenney of Resaca; Betty Freeman of Resaca; Margaret Lewis of Calhoun; Ruth Muse of Calhoun and Ruby Bryant of Calhoun. One uncle, Benjamin Anderson of Calhoun. Two sister in laws, Mary Ann Johns of Arizona and Martha Johns Choate of Resaca. Seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Johns Dutton will be conducted Saturday January 6th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends on Friday evening after 4:00 PM.
